Week 2

In this week, I have learned about several names of fashion details. 

Every Detail has owned name which helps us to recognize from others, and  I find that fashion industry is containing a lot of things in itself. 

So I am going to show what I have learned in this week's fashion details module. 

Firstly, a collar which is part of clothes that we have known, it fastens around or frames the neck. There many types of collars in fashion.

-Peter Pan collar

The name of collar originated from a collar of Maude Adams's costume in her 1905 role as a Peter Pan designed by John White Alexander.  It is cut to fit around the neckline, following the curve, and to lie flat upon the torso.

-Mandarin collar

A mandarin collar is a short unfolded stand-up collar style on a shirt or jacket. This collar has come from Imperial China.

-Sailor collar

This collar is one of the popular styles of clothing collar, which is part of people's fashion since 1866.

Types of Sleeves

-Puff sleeve

It usually designs by at the shoulder and it is wider in the middle, forming a round shape.

-Bishop sleeve

A long sleeve, fuller at the bottom than the top, and gathered into a cuff.

-Dolman sleeve

A long sleeve that is very wide at the top and narrow at the wrist.

Names of fastenings

-Hook and loop tape

The fastener comes from 1941 by Swiss engineer George de Mistral.

-Press studs

this fastener made by metals or plastic, a circular lip under one disc fits into a groove on the top of the other, holding them fast until a certain amount of force is applied.

-Zipper

in 1891, Whitcomb L.Judson who has invited the first zipper in America.

Pockets

-Patch pocket

The patch pocket is sewn on the outside of the garment and it is the easiest pocket.

-Kangaroo pocket

This type of pocket is usually featured on hoodies and sweatshirts, very large pocket.
